As the head of an organization, the CEO is tasked with a diverse range of responsibilities, determined by the organization's board of directors or other governing body. These duties can range from broad decision-making authority to more specific assignments, and are often outlined in a formal delegation of power. Common responsibilities include setting business strategy, leading the organization, managing operations, and communicating with the public and internal stakeholders. As the top executive, the CEO is responsible for reporting the organization's progress to the board of directors, inspiring employees, and driving change. They oversee day-to-day operations and are accountable for all business decisions, including those in finance, marketing, human resources, and more. It's worth noting that the CEO is not always the owner or founder of the organization, and in political contexts, they may also handle fundraising efforts.
